Troubleshooting
We advice you to regularly make back ups of your work, and especially before you operate changes in the system configuration.
Back up of the sessions
Similarly, we advice you to regularly make back ups of your X-Spat sessions, and of any au-dio you used. There are different types of media that are suitable to back up projects of various dimensions, i.e. DVD-ROM or CD-ROM mastering devices.
Common Problems
Do not disconnect the firewire cable if the Rosetta 800 and the computer are still switched on.
Any change in the sampling frequency must be made first on the front panel of the Rosetta 800, and then in the computers software.
The very convenient Firewire connection unfortunately has a latency in the transmission of the data that is too high for multi-track recording. Therefore we advice, when possible, to use the analog or digital channels of the Rosetta 800 and of the MIDI portal in the front panel of X-Spat.
Performance Factors
There are various conditions that may negatively affect the performance of the X-Spat Con-troller in Windows XP. They include:
Other applications. Any active software in the background or generating activity in the hard disk, i.e. virus protection software, disk optimizers or file saving software should be deactivated or removed.
Screen Saver. Any screen saver software should be totally removed before you use X-Spat Controller.
Power Saver Utilities. Some utilities for automatic power saving, like the ones limiting the system°òs hard disk activity, may influence the performance of X-Spat Controller. Such utilities should be deactivated.
